CP: New Makers at the Irish Flute Store
Hi All,
Time for my occasional, shameless, commercial posting.
Thanks, as always, to Dale for the venue.
Several new flute and Whistle makers have joined the Team at Irishflutestore.com
I'm now Carrying Hammy Hamilton Practice Flutes. They are truly amazing and I'm not sure why they aren't getting more press.
Also Skip Healy has gotten on board...great guy.
The others on the Roster are:
Terry McGee
M&E Flutes (wooden or polymer)
Desi Seery
Sweetheart
Michael Copeland
Ronaldo Reyburn
Erle Bartlett (Black Diamond)
Jerry Freeman
Noah Herbison (Laughing Whistles)
Cavallaro Cases
Grey Larsen
Kevin Krell (Wooden FLute Obsession CDs)
It really has been fun corresponding with all who have dropped a line. Thanks for the support.
We now return you to your regularly-scheduled threading.

It really was amazing to me when I played the first one yesterday. I couldn't believe he was getting such extraordinary results from such simple materials. Just goes to show how important that embouchure cut is to a flute.Whistlin'Dixie wrote:a practice flute for about the price of a high-end whistle.
How can ya lose?
And I think many of us here can highly recommend Doc Jones....
Mary
Hammy could probably make an awesome flute from an old gym sock.

OK here's a picture. I put one on the website as well.
The headjoint has an embouchure cutaway which can't be seen very well.
They are not conical but cylindrical. The diameter is narrower than an Olwell bamboo or a Tipple. Holes are not offset and needn't be.
Holes spacing is somewhere between a McGee Pratten and a McGee Rudall perfected. Some of the holes are slightly smaller than either.
It's quite manageble. I think you'd have to have really small hands to have trouble with one.
This batch is in the key of Low-D. Hammy makes Gs as well.
Cheers,
Doc
