The dangers of living near Doc Jones....

EDIT: We have returned this flute. It required too much for Renee to play it properly. Sounds great when Doc plays it though.

**********************************

Well, living near him (<2 miles) is not the danger. The danger is VISITING him, and taking your flute playing wife with you.

Well, the picture tells the whole story. I took the picture, in MY house, with MY camera, AFTER leaving his house tonight. You see, whenever we go to visit he always brings out the NEW stuff he has, for us to try. So what does he do, he lets Renee try all the flutes and she says, "I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE!!!!" So the comparisons and cross comparisons begin. I get a shot and I can play it better than any other flute I have ever tried. Pat notices that I am trying to cover one of the C foot holes with my finger, almost making it and comments "That is just sick. Tell me again why you don't play flute???"

Anyway, here is the picture

That looks really nice. I know that Doc is a dangerous man and I live on the otherside of the country.

If the sound that comes out is as pretty as the flute, it's a keeper!

Good thing for my family that I don't get close to anything like that. :o

I don't know if he lines ALL of his flutes. I am pretty sure the polymer ones are not. This one is though.

So, now I will have a Mopani Bleazey flute up for sale in the near future.

Tell us something.: I restore 19th century flutes, specializing in Rudall & Rose, and early American flutes. I occasionally make new flutes. Been at it for about 15 years.

I've never seen an M&E that wasn't lined. I think that is "standard issue".

Cheers,

Which, incidently, would be why it's a good picture.

Hey Steve, why don't you ever come over with your camera?? :D

Hey, you could bring the goodies to MY house to do the picture taking. Then maybe something would get "lost" in the couch or something!!!!
