FS - Henry Wylde 8 Key Cocus Flute Circa 1840

Post by Jayhawk »

So, due to annoying hand pain in my right hand when playing this flute, I am exceptionally reluctantly selling my favorite flute of all time (and I've owned an embarrassingly large number of flutes):

Just one teaser pic here...more over in the FS section:

Feel free to ask questions here or PM me.

Thanks,

Awesome flute, if this plays anything like the Wylde I tried, then someone is going to get a very responsive and sweet sounding horn. Also, that’s a lot of flute for the money!

GLWTS Eric!

Thanks Loren! I just want her to be played...she's beautiful, but meant to be played.

Just curious what address is on the makers mark on this Wylde flute?

FYI, I own a Wylde from a similar time period (mine is actually labelled Wylde from Rudall & Rose) and it is also an excellent player, every bit as good as my genuine Rudall & Rose.

Paddler - all is see is:

410 or 470 (hard to tell what number)
Wylde
London

Then again, could that be the number of the flute not an address?

If there is an address it would be on the upper body section. Often they are really hard to see even if they are still there. Nowadays my eyesight has deteriorated enough that I can't see them unless I get really bright lighting conditions, with the light from just the right angle, and then take a close-up macro lens photo. Then if I zoom in on the photo I can see what it says. Anyway, I don't see the number 410 or 470 appearing in any of the addresses listed for Wylde, so that might just be the serial number. Thanks for looking!
