Caution: thread drift...
Always interesting to see theses that were actually produced on a typewriter (for those of you too young to recognize the word "typewriter", it was a primitive printing device distantly related to a keyed flute). I'm having flashbacks to typing term papers with two fingers in long overnight sessions and feeling joy and wonderment when erasable bond paper arrived. My grandchildren don't know what they missed.
Best wishes.

Great, thanks Steve I’m now having flashbacks to my High School typing classes and can’t get the sound of a class full of students banging away on (actual) typewriter mechanisms out of my head.Steve Bliven wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:13 am I'm having flashbacks to typing term papers with two fingers in long overnight sessions and feeling joy and wonderment when erasable bond paper arrived. Sorry? I don't detect even a hint of sorrow in your submission.
Best wishes.
Steve
P.S. The thesis forwarded by the OP was completed in 1979. It's interesting (to me at least) to read the perspective, and state of the publications, regarding traditional Irish music in the 1970s. Especially here in the US.
