Flute CD you listen to over and over

Post by Akiba »

I find myself going back and listening to certain CD's over and over again. I've worn out copies of CD's and had to make new ones. These are the two that I play the most:

Matt Molloy--Heathery Breeze

John Wynne--With Every Breath

What about you?

It varies. Currently it's Seamus Tansey's Easter Snow. But I did just take advantage of the sale on Wooden Flute Obsession CDs, so I'd imagine they'll be entering the rotation soon.

Plus of course, the Wooden Flute Obsession CDs. I listen to those over and over.

Tell us something.: I like whistles, flutes, lyres, cittern/mandolin/bouzouki family instruments, as well as heavy and nasty slap bass. Languages, linguistics, history (especially Migration Period and Bronze Age Europe), cuisine from various parts of Latin America, chili growing, bushcraft, and the works of JRR Tolkien also tickle my fancy.

The ones that have been in my constant rotation for some time now are:

Louise Mulcahy- Tuning the Road
Tom McElvogue and Paddy Kerr- The Long Hard Road
Conal O'Grada - Cnoc Bui
Matt Molloy- Stony Steps
And all the Kevin Crawford stuff is regularly in the rotation, as well as other stuff from the aforementioned fluters.

However, there are quite a few others that I'm listening to on a pretty constant basis right now. I also recently took advantage of the Wooden Flute Obsession deal, so have been listening to that quite a bit. I also recently acquired Kirsten Allstaff's album "Gallowglass", which I've been listening to repeatedly the past few days since I got it.

Louise Mulcahy- Tuning the Road
Conal O'Grada - Cnoc Bui
Josie McDermott - Darby's Farewell

If you can count flute and fiddle duets, add all three of Peter Horan's albums. :)

The Cheap Way:

From France:

Every once in a while, it seems to come into stock at Claddagh Records, but nothing there now.
