Tell us something.: Hi All - I am a Celtic music performer with a band called Beyond the Heather, located in the Lawrence, KS/Kansas City area. I sing, play whistles, SSP and bodharan. I've been a C&F member since 2003 but haven't posted much recently.
Hi All - I'm progressing pretty well with the pipes and am ready to strike out in search of more music not included in my tudors.
I'm really interested in getting a list of some slow stuff. Not so much because I need to play slow, but more because I just really enjoy a nice long droning, haunting piece. My "audiences" also seem to respond very favorably to these, as well.
I know The Skye Boat Song, and tend to play Loch Lomand as an aire.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would highly suggest Barry Shears compilations of Cape Breton tunes. He has several transcriptions and arrangements of slow airs. Including Hector. You can email him at caper@ns.sympatico.ca and tell him Dave Moore said hi. He also teaches SSPs
