The guy in the middle in the above video is supposedly the "best ciaramella player in Italy." You can't tell by this video, but i have heard him, Antonio, play in person and he is amazing- like jaw droppingly good. He is an 8th generation zampognaro/ciaramellaro. His father is/was an incredible zampogna player. I guess the guy to his left is the son/grandson perhaps, making him 9th generation.

Tell us something.: I'm here because I just wanted to change my location... but it turns out much more complicated than I thought. Do I already have the 100 required characters?

Forget all your water traps and air-drying systems and watch this man:

Probably the only gaida player who masters the "submarine staccato technique"...

Translation from Bulgarian by someone who doesn't speak it, but does speak Russian (closely related):
"That a drunken Venus rising from the sea, or Orpheus descended on Earth? In any case, saltwater is good for gaidas."

Shortly after this video they were replaced by the set in the "pictures of your pipes" thread.

Classic video.
I wonder if this (membrane pipes) is possible only with modern plastic materials. Or else why hasn't anyone come up with this simple alternative to reeds before.

"Tre Säck" is a piece for three Swedish bagpipes, composed in early 1998 but unplayed for almost 15 years until this occasion, in Germany at Pipenbocktreffen 2012. Pipers (from left to right): Olle Gällmo, Kristina Künzel and Matthias Branschke
