Hi All - I'm progressing pretty well with the pipes and am ready to strike out in search of more music not included in my tudors.
I'm really interested in getting a list of some slow stuff. Not so much because I need to play slow, but more because I just really enjoy a nice long droning, haunting piece. My "audiences" also seem to respond very favorably to these, as well.
I know The Skye Boat Song, and tend to play Loch Lomand as an aire.
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
LEE

I would highly suggest Barry Shears compilations of Cape Breton tunes. He has several transcriptions and arrangements of slow airs. Including Hector. You can email him at caper@ns.sympatico.ca and tell him Dave Moore said hi. He also teaches SSPsLeel wrote:Hi All - I'm progressing pretty well with the pipes and am ready to strike out in search of more music not included in my tudors.

Whatever key you do it up in, it's a huge fave of mine.

You're right. A minor. I think I meant "Mist Covered Mountains of Home" or Chi Mi Na Morbheanna which was the other tune that I was going to suggest.
