looking to start learning

i play a couple of instruments. tin whistle, bagpipes, guitar. and i want add accordion. what would you reccomend? as maybe for a starter accordion, what to look for ect.

Don't bother with cheapo boxes from China. Go straight for a good box and you'll be glad. Castagnari, Saltarelle, Cairdin, etc.

Take a look at the Irish Dancemaster at http://www.irishdancemaster.com/accordion.html

Michael is a supernice guy, and he makes a great beginner instrument. I have one of his B/C instruments, and I can't put it down. It has a really fast keyboard, and excellent tone.

Irish Traditional music is commonly played on half-step boxes usually the B/C or C#/D. Take a look at the keyboard layouts:
