Tell us something.: I live in the Boston area and play the whistle and flute. It says my answer was too short, so writing more... I saw Lunasa in Somerville last night and Kevin Crawford came into the crowd, sat directly behind me, and started shouting.

USA, Massachusetts, Boston, teacher sought, flute

Looking for a flute teacher in the Boston area. I've been teaching myself for roughly a year. It's coming along pretty well, I can consistently get a decent tone now and play some tunes, but can't get through a lot of stuff at full speed. I have previous experience playing the whistle and other instruments, and can read notation and understand basic music theory. Cheers!

Shannon Heaton is Boston based, and you couldn't ask for a better teacher. Unfortunately I'm not sure if she still takes on students in person. She does offer some great online resources including monthly tunes at learning speeds and virtual guided sessions. Lots of simple system flute players in Boston. Sure you can find someone if that doesn't work.
