It’s been a year since I placed my order for a Phil Crump 10-string bouzouki/cittern/ whatever you prefer to call these. It should be shipping any day now. It’s ready other than a blemish in the finish that he’s fixing up. I was hoping to have this before St. Patrick’s Day but that’s extremely unlikely at this point. It’ll be here soon enough, though.

This looks so nice! Do you have your cittern already? Interesting to read your reaction about playing experience!!

I actually received it ON March 17th, so that night’s gig was my first time really getting to playing outside of a 15 minute acclimation period at home. And it’s been a mostly great experience getting used to it over the last couple of months. I did have to take a file to the bridge to stop one of the low Ds from popping out of the slot, but that’s been my only quibble.
Actually, on more small quibble is that I can’t find a good capo match. There’s a hump on the back of the neck, right behind the nut area, and it’s made it hard to find a capo that can slide up and fit above the nut when not in use.
Other than that, it’s an amazing instrument. Tremendous bass response!

So happy for you! Enjoy your instrument and its bass :)

Hi there! I’ve been renting this fiddle from the local shop here in Spokane. It’s got a nice sound I think. The little one on the right was my one of grandmothers, and now my son sometimes plays call and response with me when he’s in the mood.

Also yes I’ve been giving “antenna” for a few weeks to help my bow position.

Nice violin. I'd dearly love to try one, see how I get on with one.
