Meet Bob

Post by caedmon »

Introducing, Bob the Dog.

Xavier named him. We found him abandoned at my mom's house in Preble County. He was obviously tired, thirsty and hungry. Thus, even if he did belong to someone nearby, I considered them a bad owner and have decided to give Bob a home at the Wilson Estate. When your 4-year old son just absolutely has to have the dog, the dog has this nice of disposition, what could I do.

Bob now has fresh water, food, has been washed down, has a flea/tick collar and his own home. Formal licensing and vet care will begin Monday.

At the moment, he is very quiet. We shall see this week how he warms up and opens up to us. Enough writing, on with the pictures.

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

He looks very happy with his nice new house.

How old is he, do you think? I wondered if his back legs looked a little arthriticky, and maybe his eyes a bit filmy. Still, lovely house, and nice blanking. What more could a dog want?

Let us know what the vet says.

A friend that has had 3 Labs thinks he is 6 to 7 months old.

Shows how much I know about dogs. I.E. nothing. He probably just needs a good feed then. Best of luck with him.

I'm seeing white around the muzzle in the only photo where he's not a silhouette. Does he behave like a puppy?
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

I agree I think he may have a few years. I hope the tie out is just for short periods of time each day, many communities have ordinances that limit this practice. He is a handsome pup.

Hi Bob. He'll be in for a nice change of lifestyle. Good you took him from whatever he was enduring, including a neglectful owner.

We always get our dogs from the pounds. Lucky Isabella Danger is enjoying her new life. She was found as a stray. There is no way she ran away from home or if she did she had good reason. Once winter started coming to an end here, she began sitting on the front porch untethered for as long as we let her. The pound and the vet both told us she was about 3 years old but she has way too much playfullness in her and too little lack of street smarts to be 3. She finally caught a cat last month. My wife got to witness the cat take a good swipe into Lucky's nose.

This is a very uncharacteristic picture of Lucky from when we first got her but this shows the white around her muzzle that might be what is leading folks to believe she is 3.

He has a sweet face! So glad he's now with people who will care for him.

Dark-colored dogs often gray quite young. My Wiley's often mistaken for an older dog (he's four) because he has lots of silver on his muzzle...but in his case it's because he's a blue, and blue poodles lighten unevenly.

I can't really tell from the picture but to me there doesn't seem to be a floor to the doghouse. I was always told that there needs to be a floor and the floor needs to be raised above the ground to remain dry.

I am working on the floor, that is part 2 today. I had about an hour to put the current model together.

Day 2 of Bob the Dog

The rope tied to my martial arts pell was certainly just a temporary location. Bob, being a lab, needs room to move. And we also needed an easy of removing him from the leash to a walking leash and back.

Image

So I took the advice of a friend to install a skyline.

After getting zoning permission denied to build a restaurant in my backyard, I installed this instead.

Image

Bob now has a virtual kennel 45 feet long by 10 feet wide. He seems much happier now.

Image

Bob will soon have animal company to keep him entertained. I have two types of bird feeders up.

Don't know where Bob's been.

But it looks like he's wandered into a really nice Norman Rockwell painting!

Love it!
