Send to Dale

Post by Dale »

Thanks to everyone who has asked me recently what I'd like for them to buy me and have shipped to my house.

Just these three items will do fine:

The new REM album:

http://www.amazon.com/Accelerate-R-E-M/ ... 862&sr=8-1

The new Mark Doty book:

http://www.amazon.com/Fire-New-Selected ... 913&sr=1-1

The following album by Stars of the Lid:

http://www.amazon.com/Avec-Laudenum-Sta ... 023&sr=8-3

That is all.

Thanks!

Dale

I, too, would like the Mark Doty book. And I'm poorer than Dale, so you'll feel really good about yourself after you do it. I promise.

You can keep the REM album, though.

I certainly hope you do not intend to listen to this while driving!

One reviewer describes this as "pure pass-out material." Which may be true--here's the title of Track 4:

I own dozens of recordings designed to be heard in the hypnagogic state. When the People say to me, Dale, how do you do all you do, and do it with some cheer? Such poise? The answer? It is the hypnagogic music pumped gently into the Mind of Wisely, nay, into the limbic system of the Undisputed, via ear buds.

So it was for the Sucky REM Albums of Late. With this recording, they have come back, so it is said. And so there's a chance it might be so. Or not.

Life's Rich Pageant Rocks!!!!!!
It is in the kitchen's tape player at the moment. Great to wash the dishes to - finish them much faster. The tape is over 20 years old and still works fine.

It'd be more efficient to set up an Amazon Wish List, using the C&F Affiliate link of course. That way you won't get 3,000 copies of the same album, and you don't have to give out your address.

Well, I love REM. A year ago I wouldn't have said that, but now I love them. I got their Greatest Hits album about six months ago and I've listened to it probably once a week since.

can you believe THEY PUT A MAN ON THE MOON? MAN ON THE MOON!?

I don't know how typical my list is, but I've had one for about six years and I've never gotten anything from it. I thought about changing it to a wedding registry, because I had a classmate who had a wedding registry on Amazon and got all kinds of stuff. :P

I have one too but I use it more as a personal bookmark list than a buy-me-stuff list. Equally effective as both, I suppose.

That's really what I use mine, for, too, I guess. Come to think of it, I should probably update it.

P.S. I searched for yours but couldn't find it (using the last name I know you by ("with G") and another (with "M") but couldn't find you in the Amazon directory). I wonder how effective the search is...

I use wishlists for christmas. It makes things much easier for my parents and brother to get me a present I'll actually like.

Cran, if you change it to a wedding list you do realise you'd need to get married before anyone actually buys you stuff from it?
