Prayers/good thoughts/vibes etc asked for (update)
Tomorrow my dad is having surgery to remove a mass on his left kidney. The doctors don't know if it's cancerous or not - they won't find out until he's opened up. It could be a very simple operation or he may end up having his whole kidney removed.
He's acting like he's not nervous about the whole thing, but I can tell he is. Not that I blame him.
So I'm asking all you folks if you could send out all your best prayers/vibes/good thoughts and all that to my dad Harry. Thanks so much!

Wash your hands. Cough and sneeze in your sleeve. Stay home if you are sick. Stay informed. http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu for more info.

Thanks everyone!
The surgery went well. They did have to remove the whole kidney, because the mass had grown into the kidney itself too much and there was too much of a risk of bleeding. But his other kidney seems to be in great shape so it shouldn't be a problem.
We won't find out for a few days if it was benign or malignant, but even if it was malignant they say the prognosis is good as there is no signs of metastasis.
He is doing well - 2 hours post op he was already picking on the nurses and cracking jokes. He does have some pain as is expected but everything seems to be going fine.
Thanks again for all the good wishes! It means a lot to me (and my dad).
