Hello everybody, my name's Larry Madden and I'm a tin-whistleist... At least I am when I have a tin whistle. My entire collection, which numbered 135 plus, was lost in a house fire which destroyed my wife's and my home this past June.
Those of you who have been around for some time may remember me as possibly the all-time #1 fan of Brian Wilson, and as a mediocer pennywhistle player. Just couldn't resist seeing what this outrageous community was up to on this Christmas Eve morning so decided to pop in.
Any way, hello again, and I suppose I'd better check out eBay for a new whistle or two.............or twelve. :D

Hi Larrym. Bad luck, mate. Hope you've got your house sorted out. (I know opinion is divided on this.)

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about your fire - I hope all the folks are OK. Whistles can be replaced, thankfully. I hope insurance will help you in that regard. Have fun shopping again!

If you can afford to be on-line you can afford a whistle ... or two ....

That must have been devastating! Hope no one was injured.

Funny that you asked about Mack Hoover. If I lost all my whistes, Mack would be the first person I would contact about buying new ones.

Thank all of you for your replies and kind words. You're right, no human lives were lost and none were hurt... humans, that is. Tragically, though, we did lose our two Greyhounds, two Yorkies, a Cocker Spaniel, and one of three cats... and my wife and I have separted. But we have come to terms with what happened and are moving onward.

Merry Christmas to all..... I hope to be whistling again before too awfully long!!!!
