The Circle. a poem by Walden

Post by Walden »

O'er the roots of yonder oak tree,
You have seen them there, perchance,
Where the fay all in a circle
Have had their sacred dance.

In the evening by the moonlight,
Or was there light at all?
In the mushroom-misted stompground,
Their loving kin they call.

Every clan among the wee folk,
Is represented there,
As they march around the circle,
As they circle round the air.

In the night, you did not see them,
I know this, deep within,
In your dreams you did not hear the words
Of the ancient fairy kin.

In the calm and boggy hollow,
Where the ancient oak doth grow,
You will find no shell or black drink,
For the fay will have it so.

Do not call the children over.
No wishing in the ring.
Say ye not, 'tis but a fungus,
Speak not of what they sing.

Very good, Walden, very good.
Crazy for the blue white and red
Crazy for the blue white and red
And yellow fringe
Crazy for the blue white red and yellow

Wow, Walden! What worthy words... wonderfully woven with whimsical and wild wisdom.

Spectacular words, Walden.

Good job.
And whether the blood be highland, lowland or no.
And whether the skin be black or white as the snow.
Of kith and of kin we are one, be it right, be it wrong.
As long as our hearts beat true to the lilt of a song.

When I read this, I "saw" the image as one of those old black and white engravings. Cool.

I can see how you might interpret it thus.

Yeah. I hadn't posted from about February till recently.

How did your school year go?
Went pretty well. I had a lot of stress, but wasn't all school-related. My grades have improved. I now have a higher cumulative GPA than my sister, who started back at the same time I did. That's probably a first for me.
