Lonely Welsh farmers put personal ads on milk cartons

From the Washington Post:

"The mud. The long, wet, dark winter days and those cows, cows, cows demanding attention every morning and night. How's a lonely Welsh dairy farmer to find love?

Five single farmers -- three men and two women -- have become an overnight sensation in Wales by putting their photos on thousands of plastic milk containers on grocery shelves. Their "Fancy a Farmer?" stickers also list a Web site ( http://www.pishynwales.com/) where potential suitors can get in touch with them."

Hmmm...wonder if I’d get any responses if I stuck a personal ad on all bottles of allergy extract that we send out of our clinic...

Now you can see what we have to put up with in the chat room--he does this all the time! World's best/worst (and fastest) punster. (Although ideally you would have said, "Give it a shot...)

They ran a piece about this on NPR about an hour ago, including an interview with one of the women (who sounded quite pleasant, if any guys out there are looking...)

**ignores Alan**

Actually I dated a dairy farmer for a short time some years ago. Very handsome and a hard worker, but he had the roughest hands I've ever held! I'd better go to that website and clue those farmers in that they need some serious hand cream.

Dairy farmers in the know use Bag Balm to soften rough hands. So do I. Works great.

Yeah, that bag balm does a pretty good job, but I always like rough hands, sign of a hard workin' man....

A local chain of warehouse grocery stores had pictures of a young Lindsey Anne, the daughter of the chain’s owner, on all the milk cartons as their in-house brand. At a family dinner with one of the milk cartons on the table, my sister gave a smirk and said something to the effect of after all this time, I don’t think they’re ever going to find her.
