What a delightful surprise to find this! And thank you all for your kind words. I really had no idea I was at or even near a milestone post. Counting back, I see that number 1000 was this precocious soupcon o' doggerel --
I 'member those times by the bayou we walked,
You and me and your dog Buttercup.
But mostly I 'member the time he jumped in
And a gator done swallered him up.
