Is there no end to the kill-joys of the scientific community? :x

Sadly, I cannot find the origin of this old joke. One reference says it goes back to a similar joke in Victorian times, "pull my pudwhacker". Google doesn't seem to like "pudwhacker". Oh, those zany Victorians. :D

If beans no longer will be making music, then I guess this is what we all need..

I heard there was already this Mrs Connery in Boston who was famous for her "Boston Baked Beans". When people asked her what was the secret of her success, she told them it was in accurate measuring.
In fact, she said, when she made her Baked Beans, she always counted out two hundred and thirty nine beans.
"Why was that?" she was asked.
"Because one more would make it 240." came the reply.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.
