Rain

Post by Walden »

We finally got a bit of much-needed rain. We've had an unusual winter drought, and wildfires.

Hopefully "Green Country" will green up.

It's raining here, also, this morning.

It started during the night, which was a relief. The storm tension has been building in the air for a couple of days, now it feels like the whole world has sighed and relaxed.

It seemed to have stopped and I was going to go on a walkaround just to enjoy a soggy, sleepy morning; I made it up the street about a lot and a half before the rain started again and I had to turn for home.

A good morning for a hot breakfast! Mine was oatmeal with nuts, and a cup of hot Chai tea. I've become addicted to hot teas, lately, Chai in particular. I used to be a daily coffee drinker but have returned to just having a cup of coffee once or twice a week.

I hope everyone is having a calm, enjoyable, relaxed morning.

Yep, that's the rain that's hitting us about now. I've been up with my dog since 4 AM. Yes, my dog. She's terrified of storms. And cameras. And digital meat thermometers. But that's for a different thread.

We had two big thunderstorms in Central Iowa yesterday. I guess spring is here even though it sure doesn't feel like it yet! But we also need the rain, so it is good.

Another rain song: "Red Rain" by Peter Gabriel

It's going to rain here tomorrow--hope that washes away the rest of the snow. I'm ready for spring.

We've had two inches of rain in a couple of days, after one of the driest ever winters. Now it's blowing a gale and my windows are plastered with sea salt. Nothing's ever right.

We've had a little bit of rain today, and a tornado watch, but not enough to make up for the dry winter.

My wife wanted to drive around and look at wild flowers but it looks like there won't be many this year, not enough water.
