I find it funny to write naughty things on the church sign... Does that make me a bad person?

I have no problem with church signs in general. However, living next to a church can present problems. I could see the truck with the hoist parked next to my house, and I could guess what was coming next. I think that modern churches must be competing for business, as the church signs keep getting larger and more high-tech. The sign, 100 feet from my bedroom window, is larger and much brighter than the one that was replaced, and it is on from sundown to sunrise. At least it doesn't have any daily messages for me to worry over, and it doesn't flash on an off, for heavens sake.

We piskies don't normally go for big signs. However, given declining enrollment at our historic parish, sometimes I'm tempted! Can't you just see a giant marquee in front of this building?

I like Episcopal architecture. The buildings are always like tiny
cathedrals, with just enough moderness to look protestant... I got
married in my mother-in-law's church in Wilmington, NC, and it's
all stone and wooden buttresses and carved wood around the
alter/choir area.

Dear lord!

Near the college here in Raleigh, the Vineyard church built a building
next to (in fact, physically attached to!) an ... um "adult toy store",
called "Pricillas", complete with lingerie-clad maniquins in the window.

Its a nice statue, actually, but the juxtaposition.... Oy.

AAAAGH! I saw that while driving down on I-75 last year. I nearly fainted. It reminds me of a place in Virginia Beach called "The Rock Church" though they don't have a giant, expensive, statue.
I wonder if they are affiliated?

I find those garish displays reprehensible.
