Todays little spats were asking to be locked as people not directly involved were weighing in far to heavily. The two main parties have reached a fair and just resolution so that's it. Over.
I have voted to keep the Moderation as it is.It works fine until somebody loses their manners and gets overheated. It is up to us, the members, to maintain acceptable levels of courtesy no matter what our differences of opinion may be.

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

I'd wager it was something that was better off left unsaid... the first time as well.Unseen122 wrote:I agree I was wondering what sparked this poll.MarkB wrote:I'm wondering what thought(s) summoned the poll to be asked. I think that you, Allan and Rich are doing a fine job of it now.

Quite apart from the things people all see—locked threads for example—I've been very impressed at how well things have been handled. A couple of times someone came in cussing the cosmos for no particular (visible) reason. I was impressed by how quickly the offensive posts and threads simply disappeared. Most people would be unaware it even happened. (No I'm not going to tell you who and when. )
I don't think the policing policies are wholly consistent but I don't think they could be. It is unreasonable to expect moderators not to have good and bad days just like the rest of us. And it is important when this topic comes up to remind people that this isn't a democracy, we are guests of those who host the site, and that there are possible legal implications that it is easy to ignore when you are not the one in the firing line.
My thanks to Dale, Rich and Alan for the job they do. Everything in moderation.
