Post your favorite websites and explain why you like them.

Mine:

http://www.quakerbooks.org

(A place to buy Quaker and other religious books, I like the website because it's easy to get around, and has many many Quaker books and publications (like the Friends Calendar) that are pretty much unavailable elsewhere. The people who work there (it's a quite small staff) are absolutely awesome, too, in regards to customer service.)

http://www.ebay.com

(This one is obvious. I love it because I found a really pretty rain coat there the other day. And I also bought a Gameboy (which I don't need) for a couple dollars. Now all I need is to find an old Dr. Mario game and I'll feel like I'm 12 again.)

http://www.ielanguages.com

(A website with lots and lots of grammar information of French and German and about a half dozen other languages. I find it interesting to read over, but I'm a dork.)

http://www.mooshoes.com and http://www.veganstore.com

(A vegetarian shoe source and a vegetarian everything source.)

http://www.writeaprisoner.com

(A website where people can write to prisoners. A portion of my family is (sadly) in prison, and I know from their stories how lonely prison life can be. Many of these women and men have no family at all and feel entirely alone. I think Jesus would want us to tend to these people. All it takes is writing a letter once a month. It actually means a lot to them. Prisoners from just about every state in the US.)

Other than this site, the only one I visit with any regularity is this:

http://www.ambungalow.com/AmBungalow/home.htm

Since my other obsession(than music) is all things bungalow this site- particularly the forum message boards are a great source of information on my old house.

Thanks for the language link, Cran!

My commonly-visited sites:

http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/6e7f9/ - Virtual Tourist - a place to post travel information and photos. I don't update as often as I should though.

http://settlers.cs.northwestern.edu/ - Online version of the board game "Settlers of Cataan" - whoever put this together did a pretty good job. It's in the style of Yahoo games in general I think. At this moment in time it doesn't seem to be loading; maybe it's only hosted at certain times of day.

http://www.spamusement.com - Simple cartoons inspired by spam subject lines. Great for a quick laugh during the day.

http://london.craigslist.org/ - the London branch of Craigslist

http://www.rte.ie/tv/turasteanga/ - the online supporting information for the Turas Teanga Irish language learning book/CD

http://www.spacehijackers.co.uk/html/welcome.html - a club in London that I might apply to join if it wouldn't increase my chances of deportation :P

most frequently visited are USAA.com for banking, my college daughter's LJ page, Amazon, Dictionary.com, and sometimes Beliefnet.com.

Oh, and a Houghton-Mifflin textbook site where I can take practice Spanish tests.

There aren't any others where I really waste time other than here.

Indeed.
The main one being that there are many other people in this world who are worse than I.
