When at College, the Music Hall was donated a suite of 5 Da Gambas. None of which were played plucked when the accompanied our recorder group as continuo.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, Ole. I´m not that much of a strings fellow. Our da Gambas didn´t have the tied on gut frets. . .but very square looking elevated ones. . .not full on replicas. We could never muster more than three players at a time to accompany the recorder consort as a continuo, and never did get anyone to man the harpsichord for us, that I could recall.

Not so much an unusual instrument per se, but rather a somewhat uncommon merging of harp and distortion pedal. If O'Carolan came back as a zombie, I'm pretty sure he'd be all over this. And brains, of course.
