Now, Dubh! You should know me better than that! I know Cat Stevens' music pretty well, actually. Tea for the Tillerman happens to be one of my favorite albums.dubhlinn wrote: And there was me , thinking this was about Cat Stevens.

An Other Cup, Yusuf Islam.
I have really mixed feelings about buying this given some of the stances that he's taken in recent times re: Rushdie and the current world situation, but I can't help but really like this album. It's the same voice that came from my turntable 30 years ago. It's been playing pretty constantly all week.

Incubus: Light Grenades
Damien Rice: 9
Deftones: Saturday Night Wrist
Matt Costa: Songs We Sing
The Decemberists: The Crane Wife
Great CD's! Deftones might be a bit heavy for some of you.

Lisa Hannigan is back and adds her amazing vocal talents to the album. 9 crimes is the first single and the first song. It is heavy and I loved it.
I highly recommend it.
One warning....it was a parental advisory on it. Damien kinduv goes off on one of the songs.

I haven't heard "9" yet but, Lordy, I loved me some "O". Saw Damien perform with the band in a terrific small venue in Birmingham and it was a great, great show.jkwest wrote:Its absolutely phenomenal!!Congratulations wrote:How is that? I have every word of O memorized.jkwest wrote:Damien Rice: 9

One of the glaring gaps in my music collection had been the absence of anything by Emmylou Harris. I got "Heartaches and Highways", her best of album, a couple of weeks ago and can't stop listening to it. Now I know why she's considered one of the best by many people I respect. The most amazing thing about her is, over the 30+ years this disc covers, as much as her music changed, I like almost all of it.
I'm open to suggestions as to her better original albums.
