Emm, you'd look great with that doo. I see a comeback on the way.emmline wrote:Holy cirrhosis Batman...
I remember a cabinet like that when I was growing up--always had this profoundly bitter aroma wafting out as you opened the door. The only thing I was looking for was creme de menthe for vanilla ice cream.
Two of my childhood assumptions about adulthood were that 1) I would need a similarly well-stocked liquor cabinet, and 2) I would, at a certain age, have to start wearing my hair like this:
What I actually have on hand, presently...
1 bottle Mitolo Jester Shiraz
1 bottle Rex & Goliath Pinot Noir
1 bottle Wakefield Shiraz/Cabernet
1.5 L Lindeman's Bin 65 Chardonnay
and, a partial 1.5 L of (blech) Yellow Tail.
I don't have that hairdo either.

In the freezer I have Belvedere, Chopin, and Zubrowka vodka, and a horrible bottle of Tanqueray Malacca Gin. I would be willing to pay someone to take it.
In the cupboard I have:
Pimms #1 cup
Citadel gin
Beefeater's gin
a cherry kirsch
a peppermint schnapps(for hot chocolate)
Peach schnapps
Grand Mariner
Cointreau
Rum(light and dark)
Coconut Rum
Brandy, the state drink of Wisconsin
Drambuie
Two bottles of Royal Corregidor oloroso
And every whisky Michael Jackson, , rated above 80
Just kidding!
No, I'm not!

Okay, friday night now, so a slightly updated liquor cabinet. Here's the new content (excluding irrelevant info on my whisky bottles which I already shared):
1x Faustino VII (Rioja red wine)
1x Jacob's Creec (Chardonnay white wine)
2x Marsedsous (Belgian blonde ale)
2x Anchor Steam Beer (the only true native beer type you americans have)
2x Stella Artois (Belgian lager)
2x Samuel Adams (Boston Ale)
2x Timmermans Kriek (a very special beer, fermented without adding yeast and flavoured with cherry juice, great with desert)
Of course, none of these even compares with a nice
whisky

'liquor cabinet'... ... well... some of it is on the kitchen cabinet... let's see...
two bottles of Guinness Extra Stout
about half a glass worth of Brendan's Irish Creme
a few ounces of some wine that is better for cooking than drinking
a goodly portion of a friends hom brewed 'Triple Goddess Wine'
and in the fridge, there are a couple of lime cooler thingies that eldest daughter likes to have one of once in a while...
We aren't big consumers. It will probably look the same a month from now, except for the amount of wine put into the next batch of spaghetti sauce, but only because I tend to forget about the Guinness. It's pretty well hidden behind the mixer, which I use only slightly more often... hmmm ... maybe I should start cooking more.

Let's see you try to buy some latvian balsamic herbal bitters on a Sunday morning at Wal-Mart with all the change you can find on the floor of your car with all the french fries and candy wrappers. That cough syrup aisle is going to be looking pretty good. You'll won't even consider the name brand stuff.CHasR wrote:my latvian balsamic herbal bitters can take out your cough syrup in less than one teaspoon! nnnyah...mutepointe wrote:Cough Syrup ROCKS! Actually, press is a term that is use around here too by old folks.
