Well taken Bro, I appreciate that

I'm sitting here watching the Superbowl and wondering how long do I have to suffer this before Prince comes on.

I honestly believe that the guys who went to the moon and back had less protection around their bodies than these guys.

They probably got paid a lot less as well.

I'd wear that.
You'd end up banging the brim into everything- a real pain- I've got one like that.

Here's the kind of hat I drool over-

A vintage 20's flapper cloche- I love 'em. Of course they have their drawbacks too- I'm like a horse with blinders on- they really restrict the vision, but who really needs to see that much?

Not all are. :poke:
Come on dude. Although the target changes for some - the sillyness remains.

Banging the brim...?!

I wouldn't be thinking about banging the brim at all.

Thinking is a waste of intellectual energy. I'd rather have a philosophical discussion. *joking*

Well... Actually I'd be thinking about when I was 18 and I had a good friend who looked very much like the young lady in the hat. She once stayed over at my place for a reason I don't recall. We had a lovely conversation into the early morning about music, philosophy and such. What I didn't know was that she was very much interested in doing to me, what has been discussed would be done to the brim of said hat.

I had a reputation for being a gentleman. So much so that I missed all the signs that I could be as thoroughly banged as the brim of this hat. We remained good friends. And it was about a year later (after she had a boyfriend) that she told me what we could have been doing rather than having a gracious conversation. I'm not going to make that kind of mistake again - so I very likely would not be thinking.

There are times when thinking stands in the way of the natural course of things - and I'd like to thank you for reminding me to not do so. :P

Holy moly!

I didn't think I was nearing 5k. I thought I was still in the 3k - 4k range.

Thanks everyone. I'll wear the jacket and hat with great fervor.

One question. Why is my post count 5011 but when listing all my posts there are only 4671?

Ah yes. I'd forgotten.

And Daniel, I have had similarly regretful moments as well. Very sad.

Why don't they just come right out and tell us? We are not good at "subtle". Not good at all. gonzo needs something concrete to go on -- like maybe waving some traffic wands or marking the path to the bedroom with road signs. Many is the time he has been sitting around two years later doing something entirely unrelated when the light has gone on. Then people come up and ask, "Why are you pounding your forehead on the desk?"

(Oh, and congratulations, FlyingC.)
