I did have the advantage of knowing that I had not posted about the reel and that Nano was on the thread.
...and the biggy... that there was a thread.

okay 4 pages, with only one post on the 4th page
and only 11 hits if you search for "ivy leaf -reel" (without the quotes)

Washed down with copious quantities of a crisp white bordeaux, I would hope. (Forget that sake; that stuff is nasty.)Lambchop wrote:That's a myth, hon. I think most sake is pretty hard to drink..it must be an acquired taste.gonzo914 wrote:

But, our local sushi place has saki tastings on tuesdays..you can get 6 shots of six different sakes for 6 bucks...and a couple of them were actually quite tasty. My wife wrote them down in her ever-present palm pilot, so we could get them later if we ran into them.
Sigh. Must we go over this again? Sushi is not raw fish. It is rice, veggies, and maybe -- not definitely, just maybe -- cooked seafood or even chicken, served with a sauce you mix up from soy sauce and wasabi (it's hot). Often served with pickled ginger slices.djm wrote:(Actually, I wouldn't. Fish parasites are particularly nasty.)
One of my favorites is avocado, cucumber, and carrot matchsticks, wrapped in sticky rice.
Another is romaine, carrot, and cucumber, with cooked shrimp in a nearly transparent spring roll wrapper.
Sashimi is the kind with raw fish. Here, anyway. Bleah.
