Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

I said to a friend last night, "Good to see you!", whereupon his reply was, "It's good to be seen." A poignant comment on one's daily all-the-more-looming mortality, thought I.

Then there was the time a young lady in a bar was celebrating her birthday and, accosting me, demanded I should guess what her age was. "Somewhere between 24 and death", said I. Got the "24" bit in one, too.

Greetings, and many thanks for the fond words. I just checked my mail today for the first time in over a week - I have been resting up after a week in Paris during a city wide strike of the public transport system. Did a lot more walking than we had planned for but also found some nice little places off the beaten track.
I was highly amused to find that some of the faithful were surprised to learn I was this old! If the truth were known, I was quite surprised myself when it all dawned on me that this was the big Hawaii...Five - O.

Back to my hibernating..see y'all in the Spring.
Slan,

Great to see you, mate. Happy birthday to ye.

You're certainly missed.

I'll watch The Quiet Man this weekend in honour of yer b'day.
