All the best to Dale's mom. It sounds like she's in good hands.

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

Modern medicine is grand. The prognosis for a stroke is so much better than it used to be. All my best wishes, Dale.

Been there with two grannies and a granny-in-law. What you describe is better than usual. Very best wishes for quick recovery. The hard part is the possibility of TIAs while she goes about her daily life. Then, secondary injuries can really cause problems.

Praying for as best possible outcome as possible. Having it happen during the holiday is a familiar scenario...

Dale-- Charlene and I send all our best wishes to your Mom.

Over my 30 years of rendering medical care, I've known literally hundreds of people who've had strokes of varying intensities. Most have done amazingly well and of even those who didn't fully recover, most made wonderful adaptations.

Best wishes to you and the family Dale. You're in our prayers.

What's your dad's status? Do you live near your mom?
