I still think post total should be hidden. I'd hate to think some new person saw one of us with a thousand or five thousand or ten thousand or a gazillion posts and assumed that we knew what we were talking about.

Alternate suggestion would be to count only the posts in the whistle, flute, pipe, string, irtrad, squeezebox and clips forums, then lump the pub and polycocon forum posts together and display only the gross tonnage of same. But that would require real programming, whereas removing the post-count field is probably pretty easy.

Actually, I think it's a good thing that nobody noticed. I'd guess that at least 99% of my posts are completely frivolous. :)

Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

Shouldn’t we go to a prize that isn’t connected to an obsolete, carcinogenic habit?

Yes,

Reminds of when I hit 4K and shortly after got a very fine bottle of Champagne, wrapped up in a Red Rose, hand delivered.

Not a Cuban cigar in sight..

I'd say go with the spittoon. Lip cancer is much easier to treat than lung cancer. They can just graft a piece of your ear where your lips used to be.

Also, there is ample evidence that Jesus chewed --
Mark 7:33 wrote:And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit . . .
Mark 8:22 wrote:And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
John 9:6 wrote:When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground.

A reward for having made a specific number of posts eh?
One that's not cancer inducing?

This one merely promotes diabetes and exacerbates weight gain, along with any associated cardiac problems, plus diabetic retinopathy and circulatory deficiencies. And that's not even considering the dental hygiene issues.

There has to be some sort of new politically correct term for the smoking jacket. Oral fixation shirt?
