remove Satan emoticons?
Since the Hitler emoticons have been removed, do you think the Satan/Devil emoticons should also be removed?
I tried and tried editing to add the "other answer" option but I can't seem to do it...

I don't think they should be removed, and I never thought of them as satan or the devil. I thought of them as funny little pictures.
And when adding poll options, you have to click 'add' for the last one as well. If you type the last option in the box and then press the post 'submit' button, the last option hasn't been saved.

In reference to the thread this thread spun off of:
Hitler was a real person who committed real acts of atrocity.
Satan is a religious concept, and is only considered to be an actual individual by a certain segment of a certain religion.
The emoticons in question are cartoonish representations of a devil, who wouldn't even necessarily go under the religious heading "Satan."
(one of them doesn't even have the usual devilish stereotypical features--i.e. spade tale and horns. It's merely cranky, has pointy ears, and red eyes.
Silly devil imagery of this sort has been used in everything from Looney Tunes to Halloween costumes.
I think it's benign to all but the most right wing Christian sects.
I like them and I've used them.

We could roll 'em all into one and have a Saddama bin Laden icon...The Weekenders wrote:More clowns, more Hitlers, how about a Saddam and an Iraqi Information Minister? C'mon, get with it!
