Thank you kindly. Elasade is a variation of Elizabeth. Elizabeth is Hebrew, and I've seen it most commonly translated as 'God her oath', but also as 'God is bountiful'. I'm afraid the meaning was not our primary concern.aderyn_du wrote:What a cutie-pie family!! Congratulations, antic and Sherrie...welcome to the world, Elasade!
I love her name-- what is the origin and meaning of it?
The name sounds pretty much like 'Alice-aid'. The spelling 'Elasaid' is the Scottish version, and the most popular variation. I've seen a French spelling, 'Elisade'. Sherrie and I decided to split the difference on the spelling in order to aid pronounciation.

Congratulations!! Isn't it amazing?!! My husband and I felt the same magic your wife and you are feeling now, just 7 months ago. Thank you for sharing the pictures...I enjoyed them. They make me want to do it again.

Antic you'll have to keep us updated with pics of your new little one.
JessieK, that is a great picture of you two. Isn't it just amazing how quickly they change.
Here's a recent one yours truly and of the cutie pie of my life, Lilli, my grandaughter. (you can click the thumbnails for a larger photo)

Thank you, and yes it is.JessieK wrote:Congratulations!! Isn't it amazing?!!
Terror, insecurity & sleep deprivation are in fact very magical, yes. And as heart-stopping as moments have been, I wouldn't trade it for anything.JessieK wrote:My husband and I felt the same magic your wife and you are feeling now, just 7 months ago.
Your daughter, btw, is (and always has been) an absolute cutie-pie. Those eyes of hers are simply enchanting. I may even go so far as to say that Joey is very nearly as cute as Elasade. (Please don't tell my wife I said that.)
Speaking of my wife, I have to admit that Elasade (like Joey) comes by her beauty honestly:
These pictures weretaken Oct 16, the night before Elasade was due. (Elasade was in fact born nearly 2 weeks later, on the 29th.) We attended a costume party that night, Sherrie going as a belly-dancer.
She was the belle of the ball.

It just won't die!
I was looking for some East coast music and came across the pic of Karen Ennis of the Ennis Sisters from St. John's Newfoundland. I have met her several times when they played in Windsor...she is a real cutie pie!
And she plays a mean whistle!

Everybody has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.
