- Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

Re: Brilliant!
Excellent. I just Googled them and have found out that they're performing at The Wallingford Bunkfest in September on the same day I'm there with Icknield Way Morris Men. Should be great fun.
Cheers

Great stuff indeed, but...they keep playing the same song.

Re: Brilliant!
I've seen them at Haddenham. It's kind of disappointing that the "clay pipes" are made of metal, these days. And the coconut shells! Lemme tell you about the coconut shells...
If you read any book written before the second world war, referring to stage sound-effects, they will tell you that coconut shells have to have the meat in them to give the proper sound.
During rationing in the second world war and beyond, Morris sides would hoard their empty coconut shells because they had no hope of getting any more, and the meat would go off if nobody ate it, and they were lean times.
Nowadays horses are not so commonplace and people have forgotten what they sound like. The meatless coconut shells break easily and it has become a feature of the act.
I've mentioned to Morris troupes the idea that the coconut shells ought to have the meat in them for the performance, but they just shrug. They don't understand. It's the end of an era. I spit on your hollow coconut shells.

Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
It's dizzying, the possibilities. Ashes, Ashes all fall down.

Re: Brilliant!
Just one comment, brilliant of course:
Maybe Negative-Nano could have been more positively charged and rather than complain about the lack of meat in the coconuts, he could have suggested adding clay to the coconut to recreate the sound achieved with meat. I didn't watch enough of the video to see this in action, I just wanted to comment about the negative and positive nano particulates.

Think you have attributed the post to the wrong individual.
