Re: Who knew?
I'm eager to play the tune on the label, just as soon as someone can tell me how to handle the, er, EB clef.
I was also going to ask, what's a Wiezen? But Feadoggie, I see you found a corrected label for your new avatar.

Re: Who knew?
Wiezen and witbier are fine stuff, especially during the hot months of the year. The yeast strain usually depicts the characteristic banana and clove flavors while other adjuncts such as seeds of paradise, fruit zest (generally bitter and/or sweet orange), coriander seed, and other ingredients further bolster the flavors. It's a bit of unusual blend of malts they used as both styles are traditionally wheat based (either full or mostly). One of my favorite home brews to make

Re: Who knew?
Well, my snark was that the German word for wheat is Weizen (not Wiezen), and Hefeweizen is "yeast-wheat". You can be forgiven, Alex, but not the company that gets it wrong on their own label and website.AlexD wrote:Wiezen and witbier are fine stuff

Or Geezer's Delight.
Just don't have a few too many when making my pennywhistle.
Thanks MTG.

Re: Who knew?
Yep. I noticed the use of the wiezen spelling too as well as the EB clef. I also pondered the playability of the whistle as it is pictured on the label. But hey, it's beer and it's called Pennywhistle. Couldn't pass that up, warts included.MTGuru wrote:I'm eager to play the tune on the label, just as soon as someone can tell me how to handle the, er, EB clef.
