Tell us something.: I play high and low whistle with Traditional Irish Music being my focus of interest. I love Irish music and consider it as a direct connection to my Irish heritage. I enjoy participation in whistle tours, chatting with other players, and learning much from the many talented folks that frequent C & F.

AvienMael,
What makes you think that he is not capable of discerning the differences between the written and spoken word and more so, proper English? Sure, he is in the process of learning English and he is doing a fine job in that regard. His exposure to my post will certainly not send him spinning out of linguistic control.

The intent of my post was strictly to compliment him on his interpretation of this standard song, to encourage him to relax while playing, and to somehow recognize his reverence for ITM and Irish culture.

Cai-Shao-Yang, you are doing very well with your English. As well, your whistle playing is most enjoyable. Having never played an Alba, I was unclear as to why you were stating that it was hard to play. Again, relax and enjoy playing your whistle. I admire your ability to engage across different cultural lines and for your love of whistle and ITM.

Respectfully,
Cayden

Cai Shao Yang,
ITM is an abreviation for Irish Traditional Music = ITM. It is great that you are so devoted and dedicated to your practice of whistle, I am sure you will improve quickly and become an even better player with time. Keep up the good work my friend.

Yes, I'm sure that would sound beautiful - exactly like Joanie Madden playing Down By the Sally Gardens on her Song of the Irish Whistle cd. I'm confused - are you saying that's you actually playing and not Joanie?
