Hi all –

I’ve got TOO many whistles, and I’m ready to part with some. I’ve listed retail but will take any reasonable offer – my MAIN goal is to get them to a home where they will be played, so all offers considered.

Here are the whistles (in the picture, left to right):

1) Eric the Flutemaker – small Arabian scale flute (retail $34)

2) Eric the Flutemaker regular Blues Pennywhistle (retail $47) SOLD

3, 4 & 5) Two Walton Little Black Whistles – one has been tweaked (holes a little wider to make playability easier) AND a green-top one-piece Clare – retail about $5 but since that's about the price of postage so I will sell together OR with another whistle you buy.

6) Sweet Polly in D (from Serpent Music – thanks everyone who responded!) Does anyone remember these brass and plastic (PVC, I think) handmade whistles? This one is a 2-piece and so tuneable, although there’s not very much leeway. Sweet & easy to play. Not sure of the retail so I guess make me an offer! SOLD

7) Dave Shaw High E – retail about $38, very small & cute, requires less breath than normal for a Shaw ‘cause it’s so small!

8) Anonymous brass whistle (can’t remember the maker) tuned in an Arabic scale. If you think of the traditional bellydance song like you’d seen in a cartoon, that is the scale. Paid about $25 for it. I am happy to play this one for you over the phone if you want to hear it! SOLD

Please contact me with offers and questions OFF LIST at karddavis@yahoo.com. If you want to hear a whistle, email me your phone number.

I will post a message as they are sold.

TRADE? I'm into the ukulele now, so I would consider uke-related things for trade but do not want trade for anything else. Thanks!

Kar

Were these whistles made by Bill W? Seems like he had another that was called the Polly serpent?

Serpent was the "name brand" of Bill's whistles, I think -- and it sounds like one of his.

Yes, that's a Serpent by Bill Whedon. The brass Arabic whistle looks like a Bingamon Jubilee.
