I bought a Bb S bore Susato this week end, and I find it oeral excelent except for one thing : the bell note is unstable with a very weak volume; It also needs much less air that the upper notes which is very annoying.
I was wondering if some of you guys noticed this issue and if there was a tweak to address the problem.

Like many whistles, the Susato Bb does need a bit of delicacy for the bell note (long whistle + narrow bore). But you should be able to find the right pressure for a nice steady tone.
In my experience, the Susato heads (mouthpieces) can be variable. So if the shop allows, try different combinations of the S-heads they have on hand with the Bb whistle body. In other words, mix and match with the other S-bore whistles (D, C, Bb). They're interchangeable. You'll probably find a combination that works well for your expectations.
Good luck!
A propos ...

The bell note needs delicacy : yes, that's the correct wording.
I'm not used to that because I usually play a Burke DBSBT which has a strong bell note, and a home made whistle on which I worked to have a very strong bell note which doesn't need any delicacy at all.
So the Susato is annoying for me in that respect.
Anyway, I'll go back to this shop to try/buy another Susato. Switching the heads is a very interresting idea.

Oh, I should mention that you can try the O-Ring tweak, too.
