- Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free - Location: Loren has left the building.

I am not familiar with the CD set being discussed, but I imagine its a practice type thing with the whistle cut out of the mix. Perhaps this bit of info is helpfull... here goes. There is a tasty bit of software called "decomposer" made by Replay technolgy. It is supposed to effectivly remove one instrument from the mix. The seperated instrument can then be listened to by itself, or the mix can be listened to without that instrument. You can even record yourself, and see how you would sound if you were playing that particular part with (favorite group name here).
Furthermore the seperated track can be run through "CD Looper". A software package that I know for a fact works very well. It slows down tracks off of CD's 2-5 times without changing pitch.

Just a word of caution about Celtic Backup. It's an excellent resource and the only thing of it's kind available except for some related material on Chris Smith's coyotebanjo website. However, it provides no direct instruction on any backup instrument. There are no chord charts. It gives no direct instruction on picking techniques. It does provide some suggested chords for a sample of tunes. But I think Chris would be discouraged if you took those as the final word. You should be prepared to deal with modal theory pretty extensively if you use it. I can't imagine how it would help with whistle playing.
What it does do is to provide some instruction in modal theory and some stragegies for backup of Irish music. It is a detailed book and is pretty challenging.
I don't want to discourage anybody from buying it. In fact it's excellent and unique.
