Wish I could be there with you drinking beers, having a barbeque, playing some tunes, and not just sitting in the office goofing off!

The sun is shining here and the forecast is good for the weekend!

Tell us something.: I'm a New York native who gradually slid west and landed in the Phoenix area. I like riding on the back seat of a tandem bicycle. I like dogs and have three of them. I am a sometime actor and an all the time teacher, husband, and dad.

Thank you, Martin. That is exactly the plan: barbeque, tunes, parade, fireworks. I'll be marching in the parade with my fife and drum corps. The local forecast for the day is sunny with a high of 95 degrees (F) and 90% relative humidity. A little uncomfortable in our wool (U.S.) Civil War uniforms, but a dip in the lake after will feel great!

We can both celebrate today, Image the UK can be happy they got rid of us, and Americans can be happy we got home-rule. Image

Thanks Martin! Sorry you have to work today. Before the BBQ, I'll be giving my #3 grandson a Sweetone as a gift for starting school this week. We will have family over all day.

This is not just a celebration of independance, but also a celebration of freedom. Thank you, freedom loving countries, for standing with America in the war against terror and all who threaten freedom.

Have a safe 4th. of July.

God bless America, one nation under God.

Unless, of course, you happen to be a pagan, hindu, etc., etc.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

God bless the USA!

Wow! Thanks, all! It's wonderful... the comraderie on the board!

I'm planning on finishing my chores and stuff this morning, doing a little baking, and then going over to my boyfriend's house to watch the fireworks. (His house is in the perfect spot to see them as they go up from the park...)

Thanks to all our brothers and sister over there...over there! Hey, I think I feel a tune coming on...

Anyway, I'm glad you're having good weather Martin. Our expected high today will be 88 with humidity at 65%. The schedule includes BBQ pork ribs, baked beans, corn on the cob and one too many beers (however many that is...I'm sure my wife will tell me). Then at 9:45pm lottsa fireworks.

As a holiday present to the family the whistles will be silent today.

Happy Independence Day to some and Happy Thanksgiving to others

Marty's not only a creep (English usage - means *ss licker) but he speaks the language too! In my English office days, we 'wasted time'!

But, seriously, folks - I was able to wish a number of viitors happy 4th July today, in person, and I'm glad to do the same via the board.

All the best to my chiffy US chums!

Steve
