Special Thanks To Paul Busman

Post by slowair »

If you have seen my other thread about my experience with Boys of the Lough and in particular, Cathal McConnell, I would like to just thank Paul Busman for doing last minute repairs on my Lon Dubh. It had developed two small cracks.
After trying unsuccessfully to reach the maker twice, Paul offered to do the repair. I stopped by his place Sunday afternoon and he had the repairs accomplished in minutes. And it wasn't even one of his whistles!
Paul, the whistle preformed flawlessly! Thank you so much for helping to make last night a wonderful memory. It was a moment of unselfish labor for you...a memory of a lifetime for me.
Thanks again!

Mike

Tell us something.: Longtime member of Chiff and Fipple. I own/have owned more whistles than a person should, I think. But I’m not complaining.

Another vote for Paul being a classy person.

He has gone out of his way to address my requests. I ended up with a fantastic delrin whistle when he "opened it up a bit" after I mentioned I didn't like quite as much back pressure. It's a dream now and gets more play time than several other high end whistles.

Okay, so send back the Abell delrin. Just kidding; then I'd have to return that splendid Copeland C. I also have a great Busman delrin and a D/C set in the works from Chris as well.

I don't suppose I really NEED a delrin and a blackwood high D. My intention is to take the delrin Abell to the Grand Canyon in May. But I'm really getting a hankering for a low G Abell so if anyone out there has one I might weaken on my intent to keep the delrin Abell.

Now back to acknowledging what a heck of a fellow that Paul Busman is. Hope to meet him in person sooner or later. When is the whistle campout next year?

take care

Concisely and perfectly put. If anybody deserves a slot on a hypothetical Chiff & Fipple Hall of Fame, it would be Paul.
