Northeast whistle gathering this summer?

Post by brewerpaul »

All who attended the gathering in Northampton MA last summer had a great time. I know there were several whistlers who could NOT attend though.
Is there any interest in doing this again this year? Same place? Different loction?

If Look Park is the chosen spot I will do my best to attend. Last year ended up being bad for me. I was working two jobs and in the middle of trying to sell a house. I would love to attend this year now that life is a bit saner.

Cheers,
David

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

I'd drive up to four hours from Cleveland. That gets me into upstate New York or middle PA. That's probably a little too far west for you all.

I live an hour and a half north of NYC and almost two hours south of albany. I can't make it to last year's location, but I'd come to somewhere closer to me. Incentive for having it close to me: LOTS of instruments for people to try (if they promise not to get teeth marks on them!).

Okay, I'd drive six hours to play Jessie's collection.

I live an hour and ten minutes from Woodstock now, but it WOULD be a good location. There are lots of places there and I could get an indoor location easily if we needed it (there's a gallery where my dad was very involved for years and is still somewhat involved - Woodstock Artists Association -- there are also tons of other places I could get for us). Woodstock would be great. If people agree, I'd be happy to set it all up.

I'm new to the forum and whistling, but I'd love to go. Even if all I do is listen. I'm in NY just north of the Adirondack Park and would be willing to drive a couple of hours.

I have no idea where Woodstock is, unless you mean Connecticut. Albany, however, is probably the outer limit for me. Anything further gets to be an overnight trip! I was however thinking of maybe checking out the Old Songs Festival in June, in Altamont...highly speculative, but still a possibility.
