- About the right length for a D or Eb whistle.
- Steeply conical.
- Square fipple.
- Made of brass, with nickel tuning slide, tasseled.
- Small equidistant finger holes (i.e.: not really tuned to a scale).
- And as reported elsewhere, it's not hollow at all, it's filled with a black resin. In other words, it doesn't play, just a prop.

I'm in Vegas for a trade show and there's a Star Trek thing happening here at the Hilton. Anyway, not much time now, so here's a brief description:

No wonder: you're at a virtual trade show in a virtueless city of a dubious state.
And you wanted the whistle to be as real as the tassles and stucco?
Glad I escape going to PMA next month...
PS: Glauber: you're at the Hilton, just by the Convention Center? Don't say you're attending the National Automobile Dealers' Association?

I went to the Star Trek Experience in the Vegas Hilton a few years ago...and what a jolly good time I had.

- Tell us something.: I became interested in the beauty and versatility of Irish whistles and music over 20 years ago when I first found the Chiff boards. Yes, I do have WHOA, and I love my whistles. :)

Yes, the Star Trek Experience thing is wonderful. The ride is really great, can't tell much about it without spoiling the surprises, though.

More or less. But it costs $1500 (down from $1800, what a bargain!):Walden wrote:What's a Ressikan flute? Some cheap Tonette knockoff?

They were probably afraid Patrick Stewart would accidently exhale at the wrong time and ruin a takeDaniel_Bingamon wrote:You'd think they would make a real whistle.
You know what's always surprised me, though, is that Clarke's or someone similar didn't jump on the bandwagon and make some "genuine Ressikan flutes!" for sale at Star Trek conventions. Hey...some of you whistle smiths out there...that could be a niche market for you!

My opinion is stupid and wrong.
