Well, is it self aggrandizement to post to this thread? My birthday is Friday, though. I plan to celebrate by taking a class that evening on how to help kids in the local juvenile detention center. You all are welcome to join me, but I don't think that they'll have any cake
Thanks for thinking of us (me) lixnaw,
Erik

Hi Jerry, I'm afraid I'll never make the frequent posters lounge, but eh?, I'd never want to join a club that would have me as a member. Are you sure you want to join the whistle-smiths?
I share a birthdate with Hitler, does anyone else have a similar brush with fame? Syn.

So good it has to be a SYN!

Well, I'm not one of the well known whistle makers... but I am one of them!
My birthday is May 12th, which is shared by George Carlin... which might explain my somewhat twisted sense of humor!

Birthday of Rome. On this day, an annual festival called the Palilia (Feast of Pales) was celebrated in ancient Rome to honor the pastoral goddess Pales. In the country, special purification rites were performed to keep the sheep disease-free. Shepherds, followed by their flock, would traditionally leap through bonfires. In the city of Rome, the festival was celebrated with wine and merriment.
