ID This Whistle

Post by Wynder »

Is anyone able to tell me the make and model of this whistle?

It has a great chiff and tone that I love, so I'd love to get my hands on one. If not, please feel free to recommend a whistle with these qualities!

Tell us something.: I’m a whistle, fiddle and tenor guitar player. Mostly low D, mostly Irish trad, but I’ll try any fiddle tune on whistle.

The mouthpiece, tube style and what looks like a relatively wide bore, leads me to suspect either Goldie, Chieftain/Kerry Thunderbird/Busker or an earlier Alba, since the current Alba mouthpiece design seems a little different. Anyone else?

It was indeed a Goldie!

I gave him a call yesterday -- he had just finished a batch of Low D's, so I ordered one... should be here on Friday. I need to reach back out to him later this year when he starts in on another batch of High D's to pick one of those up as well.

Thanks, folks!
