As far as I can tell, the window width affects tuning only as far as it affects the area of the window, and doesn't materially affect Q factor. It likely affects volume to some extent. I wouldn't be too concerned about it yet.

Here are window lengths for my contributions:

Feadog Mark 1: 5.2 mm
Freeman Blackbird: 4.15 mm
Dixon (12.8 mm bore): 4.5 mm
Freeman Mellow Dog: 4.2 mm
Clarke: 4.6 mm

Thanks, Tunborough. I was still within my editing window for the last update, so I've added the new data points there.

Tell us something.: I like whistles, flutes, lyres, cittern/mandolin/bouzouki family instruments, as well as heavy and nasty slap bass. Languages, linguistics, history (especially Migration Period and Bronze Age Europe), cuisine from various parts of Latin America, chili growing, bushcraft, and the works of JRR Tolkien also tickle my fancy.

The sense that ornaments tend to be more bubbly or pronounced as the bore gets narrower is also something noteworthy to discussions relating to bore size, imo. They certainly feel faster to play, as far as the response to finger articulation is concerned.

I’ve played whistles whose characteristics defy what is typically associated with specific bore sizes in regards to other aspects of how they play, such as volume, octave transition, etc… but I haven’t played a narrow bore whistle that doesn’t produce the expected outcome in regards to finger articulation- cuts, rolls, etc.

Adding new data from Hans....
----------------------------------------------
NOTES:
Entries take the general form: Brand and Model Name (Materials employed), "tunable" or "fixed", (Bore diameter x Bell-to-blade length) [Window Length]
Because of the significant differences between them, Cylindrical Whistles, Untunable Tapered Whistles, and Tunable Tapered Whistles are listed separately.
Metric and Imperial measurements might be included, eg: Generation (Poly head, brass or nickel body) (0.46", 11.9mm x 10.48", 266mm)
References to Bracker can be traced to discussions at: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=84789
Whistles are listed in order of bore size. In order to help identify clusters and gaps, a single dash identifies any unpopulated 0.1mm (~0.004") increment.
Also included in the list are the standard sizes of K&S thin walled tubing, eg: 7/16" bore tubing (11.1mm)
Please feel free to advise any additional information about these or other instruments.
