I also don't believe in astrology for religious (Christian) reasons. It's too long and probably not appropriate for me to explain why here, so I won't. I will say it's not always necessarily "harmless fun". But that's just me.

When people ask (like now) I just say I was born under the sign of the cross.

But if anyone wants to know, my birthday is November 29. I don't seek out the limelight, but have no problem playing/speaking/whatever in front of a group of people, large or small, even when I don't know what I'm doing, or when I am just really bad.

I'm yet another Capricorn, Jan 10, 1964. I love to perform whether there's anybody listening or not. My friends will tell you I would rather play than eat at events.

As for the Chinese zodiac, I'm a silly wabbit, born in a water year.

June 13th, 1973, Gemini.
Love to play.. a little uneasy about playing in front of an audience, but once everyone starts playing, I enjoy it and it all goes well... even if I do mess up!

Uh Oh..... religious stuff. I'll stay out of that. Too touchy!

Blessed Be my friends!

Being a Christian isn't exclusive, you know.
I guess it depends who's doing the defining. Conservative Calvinist theology would say that only certain individuals are elect, while others would say that anyone may be.

There is a vast difference between the various sects that call themselves Christian, and many of them are mutually exclusive even one of another, such that they wouldn't acknowledge persons in good standing in certain other churches as even being Christians.

Generally, we would be safe in saying that a Christian is one who is regenerate and a part of the visible Church, having been Baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, and who has faith in Christ.

Amen to that, Walden.

Well, just because my name sounds like a fastfood shop where you pick up nachos, or a material with which you do the whistle tweaking, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm associated with Taco Bell or I am the president of the current Blue Tac Co. Same thing applies to the zodiac stuff.

For me it's Libra. BTW, I don't read horoscopes, spread out tarot cards, or stare into crystal...people (oops). As for Chinese sign my born year 1981 makes me a rooster. But I have trouble waking up, you know. You can't really rely on these stuff.

Tell us something.: I restore 19th century flutes, specializing in Rudall & Rose, and early American flutes. I occasionally make new flutes. Been at it for about 15 years.

Who's to say that I am not Christian because I'm not 'visible'?
But, by the other side of the coin, you cannot force inclusivist beliefs on sects who do not believe that way.

There is no need for a religious debate on this thread. It shall be sufficient to say that I am within my freedom to reject astrology on religious or other grounds.

Tell us something.: I became interested in the beauty and versatility of Irish whistles and music over 20 years ago when I first found the Chiff boards. Yes, I do have WHOA, and I love my whistles. :)

I don't go in for the astrology stuff either, but I think it's hilarious to read the horoscopes once in a great while, for a laugh (just like I get laughs out of fortunes in Chinese fortune cookies). And I particularly think that Harry's Divination teacher in the Harry Potter books is extremely hilarious...a spoof on astrology fanatics.

But I'm a Taurus...May 2. I think I'm also a Rabbit on the Chinese calendar.

Tell us something.: Just updating my profile after 16+ years of C&F membership. Sold most of my flutes, play the ones I still own and occasionally still enjoy coming here and read about flute related subjects.

Capricorn, Cornicrap, crappicon

Don't know about the old goat business... Someone once told me that capricorns tend to grow younger with age. There is hope
