Thanks. That thought hadn't occurred to me at the time, nor since - until now. I've lead a charmed life, it appears, always on the brink of disaster yet spared for reasons unknown. :) [/quote]

That song is a-driving me crazy,
I've gotta hear it again.
First time I heard it,
I was with some friends.
It's a simple little song, you can sing along
With an old-time melody,
Oh won't you play that crazy little
Song again for me.

*********
In the 1970's this was on the radio constantly, and one day our "eye in the sky" traffic reporter was singing along with it thinking he wasn't on the air yet. He was, and the DJ teased him all the rest of the morning. But the listeners called in and said that was neat, so later that week they had a contest where people could call in and sing along too. That got to be a regular thing for at least a couple of months. Dan Schmarr was the "eye in the sky" and he still lives in Spokane, and even buys books at my husband's used book store.

As long as it's not Schnappi (this song has made me appreciate the fine craft of making crocodile handbags, though) or "I just can't get you out of my head", I'm fine. Almost. If it's that "Dragostea dingsbums" song I'll be ready to smash something big and expensive after 10 mins.

Now I need some music. Horrible thread, why did I click it? *goes off to listen to Letzte Instanz*

Hmmm...

That's, like, the opposite of a hiccough.

It's my opinion - highly regarded (and sometimes not) by me. Peace y'all.

Just sing along with the Numa Numa guy...
Giles: "We few, we happy few."
Spike: "We band of buggered."

Ah, that bloody song. I hate it, absolutely hate it. It just bugs me off.
I have sort of a special relationship with it as well. The first time I heard it was when I was together with a girl I used to date earlier this year. It became our song. :swear:
Can you think of anything more annoying than beeing connected to Schnappi das kleine Krokodil?

Tell us something.: I play the first flute Jon Cochran ever made but haven't been very active on the board the last 9-10 years. Life happens I guess...I owned a keyed M&E flute for a while and I kind of miss it.

Yes you all have songs stuck in your heads, but at least it stops there. My fingers start to move when I have songs stuck in my (if they are traditional....sometimes they aren't)...I've memorized a lot of tunes that way.

There is but one solution:
Go to session and try to think of a tune when it's your turn.

You have my deepest and most heartfelt compassion :-)

(Yes, I do know something more annoying. Waiting for phone calls that are important, that should have taken place at 9 and the moron doesn't call before you call them at 11 to remind them and then at 12 someone else calls to tell you moron #1 can't call you anyway, but your're welcome to drop by, and it's a one hour bus ride. AAAAAAARGH! (Phew, I needed that!))

Song stuck in the head is not so bad. (Worse is whistle stuck in the head)

I had this whistle workshop last weekend and tried to teach to beginning whistlers how to blow a third octave D. Imagine the sound! Fifteen whistlers blowing at the same time and yes they did produce a high third octave D (plus fourteen other notes  ).

After two days and twelve hours of "group playing", I have been glad to listen some ITM tunes in my head.
It's not that hard to play it right. It's hard to play it wrong in the right place.

Pump out some modern soft R&B/Soul on your stereo, I love it for days when I have a particularly bad hangover.
I hate it on all other occations, don't like the modern R&B at all, but on those days, Alicia Keys music and stuff like that suddenly becomes wonderful.
