I resolve not to bite mynails.

I resolve to read my bible more.

And devote more of my time to music.

I thought it was some kind of weird musical notation! "Faerie wings"?? Like that's a cool idea! But how come I can't be a "Guy" member of the Faerie? (Don't touch it!)

Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account.

- Oscar Wilde

I never keep mine so I gave up on making them

This a resolution suggested by many an non-C&F'er, but after a C&F'er produced it (don't count on me for dropping names), now I consider it hard.

Give up smoking. (now considering it blankly, but in earnest)...

But only if my sportster-riding favorite MD-pie on C&F takes up some sports.

Andrea,
I was just being silly, they really are cute though. I guess I will have to go back to just using my cow. I think though that you have lost the faery wings to the Serpie-Pie. I bet he looks really cute wearing them! Image

I have thought for a long time that new year's resolutions were somehow fruitless. Now I make new day's resolutions. I can't handle keeping tabs on myself for any greater length of time.

Everybody does, sooner or later

After many futile attempts to quit I finally quit quitting -- my standard line thereafter was that I would quit when I had my first heart attack -- it was very funny up until April 11, 1998.

But, I did keep my promise.

Seriously, I don't mean to make light of those trying to quit. I've been there and know how hard it can be. When I had the heart attack in 98 I was lying on the floor waiting for the ambulance and looking up at my cigarettes hanging over the edge of the nightstand, wishing I could reach them for a last smoke because I knew they wouldn't let me smoke in the ambulance or hospital!

Good luck, Zubivka!

Yeah, sooner or later, I guess you're right. Too late would be called "grace", as in ultimately late
Well, hearty thanks Out-of-Breath John!
I just love your "top of the nightstand out of reach last smoke" bit.
You got true sense of humour: being able to describe yourself in a funny way when enduring a dramatic* situation. And this bit of humour could help my decision better than a few years of SO nagging**

* tragic is hard to recollect...

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

I'm resolved to learning the guitar this year. I bought one half a year ago, and somehow never managed to stick to it.
There are no excuses! Except a very loud conure. I swear, anything bigger and louder than her "LBB", Little Black Beak(it is now affectionatly known as such)creates insane jealousy in her.
Just pulling the case out of the corner of the room results in a battery of screams! Ouch!
I sing the birdie tune
It makes the birdies swoon
It sends them to the moon
Just like a big balloon
