The duck is facing left. Mouse-grey head, blue-green beak.
Best wishes,
Jerry

Cool, now I see the duck. The duck has the same eye as the whale.

Thanks very much. I can see it now. It's like one of those 3d pictures of a box that can be looked at from 2 or more different angles. I always thought it was a whale or some kind of wierd octopus.

The artist only ever meant to paint a mouse. It's her first ever (I think) batik silk painting, and it really was done in honor of Ralph the Second. I've emailed her links when we've had other discussions about all the different things we see in her painting, and she thinks it's very cool.
Best wishes,
Jerry

I only saw a mouse -- I feel so unimaginative...
At the end of it all, I want to be told "Well done". I don't want to _be_ well done!

I always thought it was a muskrat, with just its head sticking out of the stream. Thanks for clearing that one up, Jerry!
With best regards,

I only ever saw a whale.
This is fascinating.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I find that, if I focus my eyes just right, a 3D image of an old Irishman playing a whistle jumps out of the background. Or maybe it's a lollypop.
The Walrus
What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?
The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.
